Traveling by sea has taken a back seat and airplanes have become but a “trend” in today’s modern world.
You can just imagine how ecstatic the whole staff of Rcbc Bajada BC were when we managed to book for a flight to Cebu for a minimal amount.
Set on a long weekend, the trip was a perfect getaway from the daily tension and pressure of work. Since all of us will be going to Bohol, all of us were in good spirit as we count days and nights remaining before our most awaited trip.
All smiles we were at the airport, as exchange of silly jokes and blabbering were made until we reach the boat that would take us to the island of BOHOL.
Well, nothing was extraordinary on the ferry it was even tattered on some parts. To make it worst, the air-conditioner was broken. The boat which was enclosed with glass windows was hot, my chicks were burning and beads of sweat were starting to pile on my chubby nose.
As the boats engine sprung to life, it also drained the adrenaline rush we had when we took off from Davao International airport. Waves toss and turn the boat which made us all nauseous. For the entire duration of the trip, i slept my way out of it and I think most of my colleagues did the same.
Anyways, we managed to reach our destination without the slightest scratch just a couple of dizzy heads maybe.
To Alona beach resort we took off. It took about an hour to reach our destination from the pier. We were able to bargain with manong driver (sorry, i forgot his name) to tour us around the following day paying only 2000 (day tour).
(Day 2) Invading Bohol- With manong Drivers help, we were able to visit quite a number of historical spots in Bohol. We went to the popular “blood compact” and we were awed by the the view of the sea upfront.

Next stop, Baclayon church, here dress code were very much adhered to. Some of my mates who w0re shorts were given cover-ups before allowing them inside. The church is in partial disrepair, some of its hinges are broken, and some of its its paneling has taken a curve like form . But what intrigued me most is that the church was built by using the white of a million eggs to hold the stones together. Who could imagine that a million egg whites and stones can withstand the test of time? It was just plain AMAZING.

We went to the popular chocolate hills and were all in “awes” by the beauty and splendor of the place. The cool breeze was just perfect to counter the heat of the afternoon sun.

Of course, we couldn’t get by without food; lunch we decided was best served on the famous Loboc river cruise. We had a taste of Boholano food and delicious native delicacies. As the boat went its course through the river, we were serenaded by songs the locals have prepared which I found very entertaining.

We set off once again after filling our stomachs. This time we were paying a visit to the smallest primate in the world, “tarsiers”. Nocturnal creatures were they so most of them were sleeping their butts out when we paid them a visit. I almost did not get to see their big brown eyes. Thanks to one “pasaway” traveller who intentionally shook the branch (where one tarsier was posed at) and irritated it opened its big brown eyes for us to see.

Well, so much for this wide eyed creatures, we headed for Bohol’s manmade forest afterwards. Picturesque!!!!!! Pre-nup photos must look good at this place. There was something about the place that put that impression on me. Here we took a lot of jump shots and were often interrupted by passing cars and trucks :)

Last stop was a visit to its Island City Mall (ICM).
Night has taken its toll when we arrived at Alona Beach resort and we were ravenously craving for a good meal to fuel up our tired bodies. The breeze of ocean air with love songs at the backdrop was a stress reliever. It reminded me so much of my hometown in Surigao. Whatever stress/ pressure melted away and all I can feel is the gentle cooing of the wind against my face.

We had a round or two of alco drinks(short for alcoholic ahhahah, and swayed with the music (live band on the hauz). I even had to shake off some Hawaiian moves in front of everybody as the MC requested participation from the audience. Not as if we had no choice, we just did it as not to kill the festive mood, anyweiz it was FUN FUN FUN....(they dont know me anyway...ahahahahah

The only regret I had in my stay at Bohol was the fact that we were housed in Alona resort, the beach was just meters away from the inn and I did not even had a dip of its cool green waters. After a hearty breakfast, all four of us (cousins and my dear aunt) were all set to explore the bustling city of Singapore.
First stop on our list of “to do’s” was to take a visit to Sentosa. All aboard the cable car, we had a breath taking view of the City and caught a glimpse of Universal studios. For first time travellers like me, I did not put much thought on what kind of shoes to bring. Day 1 was jam-packed with “walking” and a lot more “walking” than expected. My foot ached, I was wearing the wrong pair of shoes but excitement kept mounting in, so I did not really noticed the little sores around my toes.

We enjoyed riding the luge and sky ride, the beaches (Siloso, Palawan etc. ) was a sight to behold. The place was teeming with tourists from all walks of life adding fuel to the already draining energy. Ecstatic I was for the 4D show. The best 4D so far experienced. To top it up I had so much fun watching, “SONGS OF THE SEA”. The show ended with a beautiful display of lights and like a child, I was all in glee and joyfully clapped till the show ended in full circle.

Day 1 however did not just stop at Sentosa, after a sumptuous dinner ( courtesy by my Aunt nec2x) we wound our way to Clark Quay. For persons whose “Cup of tea” are night parties, this is a good place to be at. However, after a round of drinks none of us dared to stay a little while longer. The hands of our watches told us that it was already past midnight and with our jam-packed schedule for tomorrow, we could not afford not to get a goodnight sleep. https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.435127098058.219797.754923058&type=1

In High spirits we were, as we set out for Universal studios (Day 2). We went out for the “rides” sparing only one, “the humongous rollercoaster”. Not because we did not have the courage but because it was “closed” for the day ahahah (so much for feigning courage). But somewhere deep inside me, I was afraid. Who knows I might throw up? But I was not in the least bit upset it was closed.
I wasn’t able to complete the shows at Universal but I think I had seen enough to tickle my imagination.
The day ended with a visit at One Fullerton. It would not be a complete experience if we do not get to see the Merlion, definitely a trademark of Singapore! The cool breeze after a long day of walking was enough to revitalize my ailing toes. Pictures and more pictures were taken. I feel in love with the view. Tall skyscrapers fronting us with its beautiful lights were breathtakingly beautiful. Marina sands could be seen at the backdrop and was a sight to behold. We basked in the cool breeze coming from the sea and had pictures taken with the Merlion , and skyscrapers at the backdrop.

Shopping was the mood set for our last day in Singapore. Just walking distance from the hotel we checked in, is the famous Orchard road, famed for its shopping malls. From designer shoes to “designer bags and designer ‘eau te toilette” it was all in here. But prices were extravagant and way beyond what our wallets can take. Instead, we went after “on sale items”, Items that were cut half the price off and we took much delight in nine west and Charles Keith items that were put on sale.
Next shopping destination for the day was “Chinatown”. Here I bought all the pasalubongs for my relatives and friends back home. Had fun in trading prices with those “chinky-eyed” owners who much to our joy willingly relented to all bargains made. (woohoooo!!!)
To complete our Singapore experience, we set out for the famous Singapore flyer. It took quite a lot of money for the 30 minute ride but after a very long day it was the best antidote to boosts our energy. Slowly as we neared our way the top, the lights engulfing the whole city of Singapore was a spectacle to behold. I was stunned at the beautiful array of lights and it offered a 360 degree view of its beautiful city. Here I was trying to absorbed everything that we went to for the last 3 days. And it marked a perfect ending for our Singapore escapade. Definitely coming back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ma.
